How to get paid the same day you clean
For solo house cleaners paid in Venmo, Cash App, PayPal or Zelle.
Send the bill before you leave, as one text with a photo of the finished room and one link. A client who is home can pay before you reach your car. A client who is out pays when she reads the text. Ask at the door, not at the end of the week.
How do I get paid the same day, right after I clean?
Make the ask part of leaving. Snap the last room, send the bill, then pack up. The text names the clean, shows the finished room and carries a link that opens the app she already uses, so paying takes her a few seconds.
Tell new clients once, in your welcome text, how it works. After that the bill at the door is simply how you work, not a request.
Don't ask in person. Text the bill as you walk out. The ask is made, in writing, politely, and you never have to say the amount out loud.
SnapPaid turns the photo of the finished room into the bill and sends it from your own number in three taps.
It does not take a card at the door. Your client pays in her own app.
Should I require payment before I leave, or let regulars pay later?
For new clients and one-off jobs, ask for payment the same day. For regulars you trust, the same day by text is enough. Whatever you choose, write it in your welcome text so it is a rule you agreed, not a favor you ask.
A new client wants to pay after she inspects the clean.
That is fair, and the photo helps. Send the bill as you leave. She sees the finished room in the text, checks it when she gets home, and pays from the same message.
Can I ask for payment upfront, or a deposit?
Yes. A deposit is reasonable for big one-off jobs, such as a move-out or a first deep clean. Say the amount and when it is due when you book.
SnapPaid has no deposit feature. You can send a bill for the deposit before the job, and a second bill for the rest after.
How do I move clients off cash and checks?
Give a date and a reason: "From November 1, I'm sending a text invoice after each clean, so you have a record. You can pay from the text." Keep cash for the few who insist, and give them a receipt each time.
You want to stop taking checks, and several clients are older.
They do not need a new app. The bill is a text with a link. If their bank offers Zelle in its app, they can send it there.
Older clients won't download anything.
They don't have to. The link opens in the phone's browser. Venmo, Cash App and PayPal open from a button; Zelle works from the bank app they already have.
How do I set up recurring or automatic payment for regulars without high fees?
Automatic charging needs a service that stores the client's card and charges it on a schedule, and those services charge a card fee each time.
SnapPaid does not charge clients automatically and does not repeat invoices on a schedule. What it does instead is make each bill three taps at the door, so a weekly clean gets a weekly bill without extra work.
What is the easiest way to send an invoice after I finish?
- Snap the finished room in SnapPaid.
- Set the price, or keep the one you used last time.
- Send. It goes from your own number to her phone.
My clients don't like typing my number into Zelle. Is there a link?
Zelle has no pay link that works for everyone, so somebody has to type or paste your email or number. On SnapPaid's pay page your Zelle details are shown for her to copy, and Venmo, Cash App and PayPal each open from a button. If a client finds Zelle a hassle, offer one of those as well.
Nobody is home when I clean. How do I still get paid that day?
Send the bill as you lock up, the same as when she is home.
Nobody is home when you clean, so payment gets forgotten.
The text is the reminder. She opens it, sees the room as you left it with the time on it, and pays from there. If she hasn't by day 3, SnapPaid asks you, and one tap sends a nudge.
Where SnapPaid fits
Payment apps move money but send no bill, no reminder and keep no record. Business software does all of it, for a crew, at a crew's price. SnapPaid covers the four steps one cleaner needs.
- 1Finish and snapSealed with the time, and the place when location is on.
- 2Text one linkFrom your own number. Nothing for her to download.
- 3She pays in her appVenmo, Cash App, PayPal or Zelle, straight to you.
- 4The record staysPaid or open, per client, with the photo.
SnapPaid takes 0% of what she pays you. Your payment app may charge its own fees, for example on a Venmo business profile. Fees, explained.
